 ABOUT NOVA PIONEER
Nova Pioneer is a pan-African network of schools reimagining education to develop innovators and leaders who will shape the future. With campuses across Kenya and South Africa, we deliver rigorous, values-driven learning that equips young people with the skills, mindsets, and confidence to thrive in a rapidly changing world.

Quest is our newest moonshot: a digital platform helping African youth discover who they are becoming, and giving them the tools to get there.

ABOUT QUEST (THE POST-SCHOOL SUCCESS PLATFORM)
Africa’s youth population is booming and so is the gap between graduation and real opportunity. Many teens reach Form 4 without clear guidance on universities, scholarships, jobs, or entrepreneurship.

Quest exists to change that.

Quest blends an AI-powered success coach with in-person workshops, innovation challenges, university guidance, and career exploration. It’s part game, part mentor, part roadmap — designed to help young Africans navigate the pathways that come after secondary school.

Quest currently includes:

  • PSP (Post School Prep) for Grade 7–12 learners
  • TGP (The Graduate Platform) for alumni and university students
  • IP (Innovator Pathway) for young makers and entrepreneurs

Quest launches in 2026 and will scale to tens of thousands of learners across Africa. This role is part of the founding team shaping Version 1 of the product.

ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re looking for a creative, youth-savvy Content Designer to help bring Quest’s learning journeys to life. Think of this as part learning designer, part storyteller, part creative producer.

You will:

  • Turn ideas into quests, challenges, prompts, and micro-learning moments.
  • Shape how our AI coach interacts with learners.
  • Make content feel alive — not like school, but like exploration.
  • Help Gen Z and Gen Alpha learners reflect, dream, and take action.
  • If you enjoy making learning feel fun, modern, and meaningful for teens, you’ll thrive here.

KEY SUCCESS OUTPUT:
High-quality, learner-centered content shipped every week; clean tagging/versioning; <1% publishing errors; simple engagement snapshots every sprint; learner and facilitator feedback continuously feeding into improvements.

Design Quest Experiences
  • Turn our PSP curriculum and frameworks into quests, challenges, stories, and interactive digital tasks.
  • Write scripts, micro-lessons, prompts, and AI coach interactions that feel human, warm, and motivating.
  • Use storytelling, humor, real-world case studies, and African context to make content relatable.
  • Break concepts into small, game-like steps that help learners move forward.

Make Learning Feel Modern
  • Collaborate with the Product Designer to create experiences with great flow and visual appeal.
  • Design content that works for short attention spans and mobile-first realities.
  • Explore formats like micro-videos, simple animations, social-style interactions, and reflection cards.

Test, Iterate, Improve
  • Run quick learner tests and refine content based on feedback.
  • Ensure content is accessible and designed for diverse learning needs.
  • Tag and organize content so it fits cleanly into the Quest platform.

Collaborate Cross-Functionally
  • Work with engineering and product to integrate content into the MVP.
  • Partner with school-based facilitators and the offline PSS team to connect digital content with real-life sessions.

Design and Run PSP Camps
  • Partner with the PSSP Lead and the PSS Lead to lead PSP Campus in design and implementation.
  • Ensure camps reach target enrollment numbers.
  • Ensure High Expectations camp implementation with high satisfaction rating.

ABOUT YOU:

Skills & Experience
  • 2–4 years of experience in content design, learning design, creative writing, youth programs, or EdTech.
  • Strong writing chops — you can make complex things sound simple, human, and fun.
  • Basic familiarity with tools like Google Slides, Figma, Notion, or lightweight authoring tools.
  • Understanding of youth psychology, motivation, and Gen Z/Gen Alpha digital culture.
  • Visual instinct: you know when something feels flat, cluttered, or lifeless — and how to fix it.
Mindset:
  • You design for engagement, not just accuracy.
  • You love mixing creativity with structure.
  • You take feedback well and iterate quickly.
  • You care deeply about African youth and their futures.
  • You thrive in early-stage, ambiguous, “build-as-we-go” environments.
Additional Skills & Requirements
  • Experience designing for mobile or gamified environments.
  • Background in storytelling, creative writing, media, animation, or youth culture.
  • Familiarity with how AI tools can enhance learning experiences.
